Personal and equipment safety Based on my own experience, i have established the following scale. it is assumed a normally careful behaviour, based on a cautious feeling of places and people before acting : 5 : no problem at all, i felt very little risk 4 : be careful, some people may turn weird 3 : do not leave your bike alone in certain places and keep your passport with you. 2 : do not stay there longer than necessary. 1 : get out of there ! Germany: 5 Austria: 5 Slovaquia: 4 Hungary: 3-4, in one place: 2 Romania: 4-5 Bulgaria: 4-5 Turkey: 5

Money and prices Except in the most touristic areas of Turkey, the prices which were applied to my purchases were the same as to the local people. it takes times to get used to prices ! Brands are double price than local products, big cities are more expensive than villages, etc. Please, do not struggle to much to save 2 or 3 EUR (whatever the currency) when the guy (a fortiori - the child) in front of you earns may be 10 EUR a day !
