Remerciements

I heartily dedicate this trip to Yoann, my godson and to my in-becoming nephew, for their young legs do not yet allow them to undertake this adventure with me,

Then, my warmest gratitude goes to all of you, who followed, listened, supported me over the last years far beyond I could ever have expected in the making-up and the happening of this project ! Be sure you are in my heart, should either the roads be bumpy or a gentle tailwind blow !

Special thanks go to :

The Dream biking team and dearest friends, Anne-Claire Goupy, Capucine Laurent and Mathieu Barbaud,

The French Londoners, i.e. Camille&Juliette, Alex&Adam et les autres,

Obviously, Marc Delacroix from Shell WindEnergy in Paris,

The Shell WindEnergy Team in the Hague, especially Tess White, Anne-Mieke Van der Werf and Michael Payne,

The Shell WindEnergy Team in London, i.e. Trudi Jones, James Donald, Martin Simpson, Andrew Murfin, Hugh Yendole, Mark Passant, Alex Rubinchick, who so kindly helped me to sort the Azeri visa application, and Rob Hastings, now lazing around at the Crown Estate,

Also in London, the Shell CIS Business Relations Office and in particular, Anatoly Leontiev, for his very considerable attention and advice,

And Iain McMorrine, now working for Allianz,

In Houston, my gratitude goes to Alan Forster and Chris Ziesler,

In Beijing, to Ruhu Wu and Jing Huang, for their keen ability to introduce me to some subtleties of their country.

And last but not least : Marie, Max, Seb, Julie, Anisette, Tif, Vincent-mon-coturne, ma maman (mais pas mon papa), all my multi-legged ancestors, and even some National Administrations, which make my trip as a link of peace between human kinds in a living planet be a real challenge indeed. It would not be so much fun without their appalling contributions.

I am awfully sorry to forget half of you here, despite the necessity to acknowledge all contibutors... You're more than very welcome to put your case in an e-mail (bartrouer@yahoo.fr), so that your truly servant can correct any detrimental oversight very promptly !

I also would like to recall the loving memory of Matthieu Plasteig, died August 2004 in the French Alps, who should have been part of this trip if he were not climbing higher summits today.
